Biography
Ahmad Bay was the last Bey of Constantine, a region in eastern Algeria, during the Ottoman Empire's rule. He is known for his resistance against the French invasion in the early 19th century. His reign was marked by efforts to modernize the army and administration, drawing on European techniques and reforms. Despite his military and administrative efforts, his rule came to an end with the French conquest of Constantine. Ahmad Bay's resistance is remembered for its fierceness and the significant challenges it posed to the French forces.
