Awah bin Abat bin al-Talib Ibrahim al-Taqati al-Shinqeeti was a distinguished Maliki scholar from the region of modern-day Mauritania. He was renowned for his deep knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence and commitment to the Maliki madhhab, one of the four major schools of Sunni Islamic legal thought.
