Benjamin of Tudela was a 12th-century Jewish traveler from the Kingdom of Navarre. He embarked on an extensive journey throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa, documenting Jewish communities along the way. His travel manuscript provides valuable insights into the socio-economic status and cultural practices of Jewish life during the medieval period. Traversing places like Constantinople, Baghdad, and Alexandria, his works preceded those of Marco Polo and were written in Hebrew, offering a rare glimpse into the world through the lens of a medieval Jewish traveler.
