Biography

ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Šaʿrānī was a Sufi mystic and scholar in the Islamic tradition. He is renowned for his contributions to Sufi literature and Islamic jurisprudence. Al-Šaʿrānī authored several influential works, among them 'Al-Minan al-Kubra' which explores the spiritual practices and doctrines of various Sufi orders, and 'Lawāqih al-Anwār al-Qudsiyya', a comprehensive treatise on Islamic spirituality. His writings emphasize the importance of following the Sharia in conjunction with the Tariqa, advocating for a balanced approach to Islamic life that harmonizes legal obligations with spiritual aspirations.
