Biography
Ibn Haddad, known formally as Sa'id ibn Muhammad al-Ma'afiri al-Qurtubi then al-Sarqusti, and popularly as Abu Uthman, was a distinguished scholar from the Islamic Golden Age. His contributions spanned various fields of Islamic studies, with a notable focus on jurisprudence and theology. Operating primarily in Cordoba before moving to Saragossa, his works reflect the rich intellectual tradition of Al-Andalus. Despite the scarcity of surviving texts, his scholarly efforts are recognized for their depth and precision in exploring Islamic legal and theological nuances.
