Biography

Ahmad ibn Hanbal, also known as Abū ʿAbd Allāh Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Hanbal al-Shaybani, was a foundational Islamic scholar and theologian. He is best known for his profound contributions to Islamic jurisprudence and theology. He founded the Hanbali school of Sunni jurisprudence, one of the four major schools in Sunni Islam. His most significant work, Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal, is among the most comprehensive collections of hadith, compiling over 30,000 sayings of the Prophet Muhammad. His dedication to the collection and analysis of hadith established him as a pivotal figure in Islamic history.
