Ibn Kathir was a highly regarded Islamic scholar from the classical period, known for his deep knowledge in hadith, history, and tafsir (Quranic exegesis). He authored one of the most famous tafsir works, "Tafsir ibn Kathir," which is celebrated for its thoroughness and reliance on authentic sources. His historical chronicle, "Al-Bidaya wa'l-Nihaya" (The Beginning and the End), provides an exhaustive account of Islamic history from the creation of the world to his own time.
