Ibn Quff Karaki, originally known as Abu al-Faraj ibn Ya'qub, was a distinguished physician from the medieval Islamic world. He authored the comprehensive medical encyclopedia 'Al-Umda fi'l-Jiraha' (The Support in Surgery), which became a cornerstone in the field of surgery and medicine. His work not only synthesized the vast knowledge of Greek, Persian, and Indian medicine but also introduced innovative surgical techniques and treatments, reflecting his deep understanding of anatomy and pharmacology.
