Biography
Ibn Rushd, also known as Averroes, was a polymath from Cordoba who made significant contributions to philosophy, theology, and medicine. His extensive commentaries on Aristotle reintroduced the Greek philosopher's ideas to the West and the Muslim world, bridging a gap between classical thought and Islamic philosophy. Among his notable works are 'Tahafut al-Tahafut' (The Incoherence of the Incoherence), which critically addresses Al-Ghazali's 'Tahafut al-Falasifa' (The Incoherence of the Philosophers), and his medical treatise 'Kitab al-Kulliyat fi al-Tibb' (The Book of Generalities in Medicine).
