Biography

Ibn Taymiyya, a theologian and jurist, was renowned for his scholarly works in Islamic jurisprudence, theology, and logic. His extensive writings, including 'Majmu' al-Fatawa' and 'Minhaj as-Sunnah an-Nabawiyyah', addressed a wide range of subjects from legal, theological to philosophical issues. He advocated for a return to the Quran and Sunnah as the primary sources of Islamic law, emphasizing the importance of understanding Islam based on the practices of the Salaf (the pious predecessors). His work significantly influenced later Islamic scholarship, particularly in the fields of Salafi thought and jurisprudence.
