Biography

Jalal al-Din al-Balqini was a distinguished Islamic scholar known for his contributions to jurisprudence and hadith studies during the Mamluk period. He held the position of Chief Qadi in Cairo and was renowned for his extensive knowledge and legal opinions. As a leader of the Shafi'i school, he played a significant role in the development of Islamic legal thought. His teachings attracted numerous students, among them was the famed Islamic scholar Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani. Al-Balqini's scholarly work significantly influenced the legal and religious discourse of his time.
