Maslama al-Majriti was an Andalusian scholar known for his work in the fields of mathematics, astronomy, and astrology. He played a crucial role in the transmission of knowledge from the Islamic world to medieval Europe. His most notable contribution was the improvement and correction of Ptolemy's Almagest, as well as the translation and expansion of the astronomical tables of al-Khwarizmi. Al-Majriti also wrote on alchemy, contributing significantly to the development of this field in the Islamic Golden Age. His works influenced both his contemporaries and later scholars in the Islamic world and Europe.
