Biography

Muhammad bin Ahmad al-Masmami was an influential Berber Islamic scholar and preacher during the 10th century. He was part of the early Ismaili movement in the Maghreb. Al-Masmami's efforts were central to spreading Ismaili doctrine in the region, gaining numerous followers. He was actively involved in organizing and leading communities, emphasizing spiritual purity and community guidance. His teachings and leadership contributed significantly to the foundation and expansion of Ismaili beliefs, particularly under the Fatimid Caliphate.
