Biography

Muhammad Abduh was an Egyptian Islamic scholar, jurist, and reformer. He is best known for his efforts to reconcile traditional Islamic thought with modernity. He advocated for educational reforms, the revival of ijtihad (independent reasoning), and sought to address the challenges Muslims faced due to the advancements in Europe. His notable works include 'Risalat al-Tawhid' (The Theology of Unity), a seminal text that aimed to clarify and defend the principles of Islam in the context of modern philosophy and science.
