Biography

Muhammad ibn Ali al-Sanusi al-Khattabi was a notable Islamic scholar and theologian, best known for founding the Sanusiyya, a religious movement which aimed to revive the spiritual teachings of Islam and return to its early principles. His work focused on providing comprehensive religious education and promoting unity among Muslims. Establishing numerous schools and zawiyas, al-Sanusi’s teachings emphasized Sufism, scriptural adherence, and moral reform. His leadership and dedication significantly influenced religious practices in North Africa, and his ideas laid the foundation for his successors to follow in building strong, spiritually guided communities.
