Biography

Muhammad Sanusi, known as Abu Abd Allah, was a prominent Islamic scholar and the founder of the Sanusiyya Sufi order. His teachings and spiritual guidance led to the establishment of a widespread network of zawiyas (lodges) across North Africa, particularly in Libya, where they played a significant role in social and political life. His works focused on Islamic theology, law, and Sufism, aiming to revive the essence of Sunni Islam in the face of declining religious adherence. The Sanusiyya order under his leadership emphasized education, moral reform, and communal welfare.
