Biography
Shahid Thani, originally known as Zain al-Din bin Nur al-Din al-Amili, was a distinguished Islamic scholar from Jabal Amel, in present-day Lebanon. He is renowned for his profound contributions to Shi'a Islamic jurisprudence and his efforts in teaching and writing. Among his notable works are 'Sharh al-Lum'a,' an extensive commentary on 'Al-Lum'a al-Dimashqiyya,' and 'Masalik al-Afham,' which further elucidates Shi'a legal principles. His scholarly pursuits led him to reside in various Islamic intellectual centers, including Damascus and Aleppo, where he engaged deeply with Islamic law and ethics.
