Biography
Yuhanna ibn Masawayh was a prominent physician and translator who played a significant role in the transmission of Greek medical knowledge to the Islamic world. As an esteemed figure at the Abbasid court, he served under several caliphs, contributing to the advancement of medical practice. He was instrumental in developing the Beit al-Hikma (House of Wisdom) in Baghdad. His noteworthy works include numerous medical treatises that were studied for centuries, such as 'The Book of Fevers.' His efforts laid a foundation for future medical research and education in the region.
